SUMMARY:Monthly Visualisers Gathering
LOCATION:c-base Raumstation\, Rungestrasse 20\, (2nd backyard)\, Berlin
DESCRIPTION:Hello visionaries!\n\nBecause our host c-base doesn't allow presentations on Mondays anymore\, we will try something different and move the event to Friday. Join us for a drink to data-vis our way into the weekend! We are developers\, designers\, data scientists and other people interested in data vis\, and we usually chat and gather around in a very informal way.\n\nThis time\, we will also experiment with lightning talks. So far\, we have two of them:\n\n1. Daniel Kirsch (@kirel (https://twitter.com/kirel)) will talk about the recreation of chroropleth maps in R.\n\nhttp://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/8/4/f/f/600_435394047.jpeg\n\n2. Robert Penney will talk about Open Earth\, a google earth style viewer with the ability to move up and down in time and view historical information and sources.\n\nhttp://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/8/4/f/5/600_435394037.jpeg\n\nIf you want to present something\, send an email to Lisa: lisacharlotterost@gmail.com. You're very welcome to talk 10 minutes or less about...\n\n• A visualisation project you're currently working on and for that you need some feedback\, or requests for help for your own project\n\n• A project you've just finished and what you learned while working on it\n\n• Work done by others or technologies you want to introduce to others\n\n• Something else that other people might find interesting.\n\nAgain\, send an email to Lisa: lisacharlotterost@gmail.com\n\nSince "a picture is worth a thousand words"\, and since the idea of the meetup is to be very practical and hands-on\, you are encouraged to bring your tools\, being them digital or analog (paper & markers)!\n\nSee you there!
