Data Visualisation Berlin

2015 Retrospect And Reflection

– Betahaus Café, Prinzessinnenstraße 19-20, 10969 Berlin

The great year 2015 comes to an end and we want to pause for a moment and reflect what happened this year and what this meant for us. So how does this work? We will have a lot of speakers! And these speakers are gonna be you, the lovely data vis community in Berlin! Everyone who attends the meetup is asked to contribute a small talk (not more than 2 minutes/3–5 slides) answering some of the following questions: - What is your background? Did you start data visualisation this year maybe? - What has been your favourite data vis/infographic this year? - What has been your favourite/most used tool/library/framework that came out this year or you just discovered this year? - What has been the most interesting articles/books/exhibitions/moocs…? - What is something you learned this year? Some technology, design methods, scientific approaches… ? - What have been some visualisations you did that have been important for you or had a great impact on other people? As a christmas present for everyone we want to compile all the results and create a big presentation containing all the projects that made this year so special! In order to have a smooth running meetup we ask everyone to send in their PDF(!)-presentation till the 16th of December, 11am, to this email address: jonasparnow%gmail.com. From these presentations we are gonna create the order you are presenting. We will provide a link to a file containing all presentations after the meetup. So please make you everyone understands your slides from reading it and that you include links to the tools / other data vis! Again: If you want to attend, you need to present. It's only fair to everybody else who will prepare a presentation. We will kick you out of the attendee list if you're not sending us a presentation until the morning of the 16th, and we will kick you out of the event if you're trying to sneak into it. So, we are looking forward to see you all and hear about what made your year so great! PS: The best presentation might get some Lebkuchen ;)
